A family business with tradition – ARGO-HYTOS celebrates 65 years

In July 2012 ARGO-HYTOS celebrated its 65th anniversary with all current and former employees getting the chance to look back on the years in a relaxed setting.

The ARGO-HYTOS Group has its origins in the earlier company Argo GmbH for precision mechanics and has been owned by the Kienzle family for several generations. Argo GmbH was established on 7 July 1947 in Stuttgart and had developed from the former Stuttgart distribution company for the Kienzle taxameter. An independent production range of magnetic filters and strainers was soon developed and Argo obtained a patent for magnetic filters back in 1952. The product range was continuously expanded and international expansion propelled forward. In 1993 ARGO acquired a stake in the Czech hydraulics manufacturer HYTOS, which also had some 50 years of experience in the manufacturing of components for industrial process and control technology. The companies have traded under the name ARGO-HYTOS since 2003. Today, the ARGO-HYTOS Group employs more than 1200 people in its production companies in Germany, the Czech Republic and India as well as numerous own international distribution and assembly companies. The company has established itself as a leading supplier, especially in the field of mobile hydraulics.
