Sustainability at ARGO-HYTOS– A Snapshot

Investing on Site

The overall carbon footprint from ARGO-HYTOS in 2022 amounted to 12,440,265.83 kg CO₂, which corresponds to the carbon footprint of 1432 European citizens (one person in Europe emits an average of 8.7t CO2 per year). To put this number into context: ARGO-HYTOS is composed of seven production entities, nine sales units and 1600 employees spread across these sixteen different entities.
To continue the path of carbon neutrality and striving towards the 55% reduction of our emissions, we devote 2% of our invest volume to proactive measures across our entities that reduce CO2 emissions.
A great investment is allocated to our plant in India where we are investing in solar technology on site. Meanwhile, our Czech entity is undertaking pivotal facility management measures to reach higher recuperation energy levels. For example, adjustments are made to create a closed cooling circuit to preserve energy, thermal insulation is being expanded and a complete switch to LED lighting is in the works.
Other measures taken across all entities is a switch to green energy wherever feasible and a move towards electric cars with the adequate infrastructure.

ARGO-HYTOS embraces the megatrend sustainability in our innovation approach.
We reduce the carbon footprint of our products during production and usage. We also strive for recycling services as a product while also transforming our products to achieve higher recyclability possibilities. To deliver these results, eco-thinking needs to be ingrained in the minds of all employees across the globe to educate and encourage them to choose more sustainable alternatives.
Our teams are at the forefront of putting all sustainability measures into practice. For example, the Quality Management team has updated the approval process for the ordering of new production equipment that reflect the highest sustainability standards.

Sustainable Alternatives for our Customers
As part of our sustainability strategy, ARGO-HYTOS places a great focus on product alternatives for our customers to achieve a more sustainable operation. The alternatives provide all benefits of high-efficiency and long service life with a less harmful environmental impact.

In the field of filtration, we have introduced product alternatives in the construction and agriculture niche with the aim of expanding these alternatives in other industries and product ranges such as Fluid & Motion-Control. The transformation of the product alternatives has led up to a 50% longer service life and up to a 40% reduced pressure drop for our customer applications. The reusing of filter components such as the reuse of the housing of our spin-on alternatives is another example of the measures taken to bring customers a lower level of energy consumption.
